A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main galley and servery on 4 deck between 30 and 39 stations, showing a plate counter and serving hatch on the right. The roller shutter is closed. On the left is a range of shallow fryers and in the foreground is an automatic emergency lantern. The photographer has allocated the number 8 to this location.
