Hermes (1953). In the bakery on 5 deck during conversion.
A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the bakery on the port side of 5 deck between 20 and 30 stations. He is looking to starboard from the aft end of the bakery showing a stainless steel worktop with shelves and drawers under. On the worktop is a 7 lb bag of baking powder and a rolling out machine. Sacks of flour are under the worktop. Beyond the worktop is a drawer unit with a Crypto Peerless mixing machine on top. On the right is the end of a long worktop bench. On the floor is a large bag of Zamix floor sealant. A vertical format negative.
