        On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971.  The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 27 and 31 stations on 3 deck looking aft from 28 station on the centreline showing kit lockers and the watertight hatch leading down to 4 deck on the left.  A triple tier bunk unit and kit lockers are on the right and a stack of tubular steel chairs are in the right foreground.  Two kit lockers, a transformer, a fuse panel, an automatic emergency lantern and a Nu-Swift fire extinguisher are against the aft  bulkhead.
