The Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959). On the quarterdeck between 67 and 80½ stations on 2 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is on the quarterdeck between 67 and 80½ stations on 2 deck looking to starboard from the centreline at 71½ station showing the Limbo mortar well on the extreme right. The watertight door to the laundry is just ajar and an electric fire, a fire main and pump and a fire hose basket are against the aft bulkhead of the laundry. The stairs leading up to one deck terminate on a fan exhaust. A locker is on the deck in the right foreground. The ship is berthed starboard side to the basin wall.
