A slightly distant port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Cunard Line cruise ship Franconia (1923) at anchor in Port Said, Egypt. She has both anchors deployed, is in all-white livery and is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm on her foremast. In the left background is the Royal Navy battleship Barham (1914), seen from off her port beam. She has awnings rigged over her decks and has a Fairey IIIF on her catapult. The Barham was only at Port Said on three occasions: 15 September to 4 November 1935, 22 November 1935 to 18 February 1936 and 29 to 30 May 1936. The negative is slightly out of focus.
