A slightly distant port bow view of the Swedish cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) in the middle chamber of the east flight of the Gatun Locks, Panama Canal, heading south. The ship is in all-white livery and her promenade deck has been plated in. The photographer is on the lock side looking north showing the electric mules on either side of the ship which control her positioning within the walls. Most of the ship's hull is below the level of the lock wall.
