A port bow view of the Swedish cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) in the middle chamber of the east flight of the Gatun Locks, Panama Canal, heading south.

A port bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the Swedish cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) in the middle chamber of the east flight of the Gatun Locks, Panama Canal, heading south. The ship is in all-white livery and her promenade deck has been plated in. The photographer is on the lock side looking north. The electric mule number 658 is connected to the ship's forecastle to control her positioning within the walls of the lock. Most of the ship's hull is below the level of the lock wall and her bow and mast tops are out of the picture.
