On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south wall of No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard, Kent. In the junior rates dining hall between 52½ and 57 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck.
        
        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is in the junior rates dining hall between 52½ and 57 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft on the port side of the hall into the servery showing a cupboard unit with cutlery trays on top of it and a four slice electric toaster above it.  A cold water dispenser is next to the cupboard.  On the right is a cold cabinet being used as a temporary storage area for plates and beyond it is a work surface with a shelf above on which are loaves of Sunblest sliced bread.  A tea urn is against the aft bulkhead.
