        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is in the operations room between 31½ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking to port at the aft end of the room showing two communications desks, each equipped with a morse key.  A state board is above the desks.  Next to the desks is an audio visual unit with a radar selector switch unit below it and a clock reading 11.20 above it.
