        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is the audio frequency compartment between 40¼ and 41¾ stations on the centreline of 01 deck looking to starboard and forward showing two cabinets undergoing maintenance on the left.  Each cabinet contains a relay panel, an alarm panel, a receiver panel and a transmitter panel.  Against the forward bulkhead are a gun direction unit and an intercom unit, both missing the front panel.  A vertical format negative.
