A starboard side view of the Cunard line cruise ship Lancastria (1922) alongside a wharf at Aalesund, Norway

A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Cunard Line cruise ship Lancastria (1922) moored alongside the Storneskaia wharf on the south side of Aalesund, Norway. The ship is in the standard Cunard livery of black hull and white upperworks but the white has been extended down by one deck. An accommodation ladder is rigged at the midships shell doors. The photogrpaher is looking across the harbour showing a number of small boats in the enclosed basin in the foreground and a steam fishing vessel registered M.75.A is on the inside of the Storneskaia. The Storneskaia is thronged with onlookers.
