A distant starboard bow view of the Cunard Line cruise ship Lancastria (1922) alongside a wharf at Arendal, Norway. She is in the standard Cunard livery of black hull with white upperworks but the white has been extended down by one deck. Lifeboat number 1 is suspended in its falls and an accommodation ladder is rigged in a raised position at the shell doors amidships. A cliff face is immediately behind the wharf. A three storey building on the right has 'Arendals Mobelfabrik' on it. The negative has been damaged at the bottom and a piece is missing at bottom right.
