The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 50 and 56 stations on 3 deck looking to port and aft from the centreline at 54½ station showing three tables and eight tubular steel chairs close to the aft bulkhead.  An ironing board, a litter bin, a loudspeaker, a tea cupboard, two bookshelves, a clock reading 05.25 and a tannoy speaker are against the aft bulkhead.  Triple tier bunk units are against the ship's side, on the right and in the foreground.
