        On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit.  The photographer is in the sonar instrument compartment between 16 and 28 stations on 3 deck looking aft from the port side at 17 station showing the hatch of the hull outfit 19 (sonar type 170) in the left foreground.  A number of boxes are on the hatch cover including two 2 drawer card filing cabinets.  Abaft the hatch are standard electronic cabinets J, I and H.  The standard electronic cabinets A, B, C, D, E, F, G and K are against the port side of the ship.  A telephone handset and a CO² fire extinguisher are alongside the door in the aft bulkhead and above the door is a cupboard.  A vertical format negative.
