On board the Royal Navy light cruiser Tiger (1945) under way in the North Atlantic off north-west Scotland during the NATO exercise Flat Rock. The photographer is on the port side at 04 deck level abreast the foremast looking aft showing Q2 3 inch gun mount trained to port and firing. The dinghy stowage at 03 deck level is in the foreground. The Tiger (1945) was the flagship of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss who commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe.
