Malta Harbour from St Angelo, with the 'Beagle', gunboat
Mounted with PAD9044 on reverse of a card sheet. Inscribed below on the backing sheet: 'Malta Harbour from St Angelo 1854 / Beagle Gunboat (Lt Hore)' with the date 1854 to the right. If this date is correct for the drawing it must be late in the year since the 'Beagle' was a wooden-hulled Arrow-class screw gun-vessel launched in July 1854 and commissioned that September: it was sold in 1863.
