On board the Royal Navy aircraft carrier Ark Royal (1950) while under way in the Arabian Sea during the CENTO exercise Midlink VI. The photographer is on the starboard side of the flight deck looking to starboard through a circular window at the Royal Fleet Auxiliary replenishment tanker Tidesurge (1954) which is steaming close alongside during a refuelling evolution. Only the centre and aft gantries and funnel of the tanker are in the picture.
