On board the United States Navy guided missile destroyer Claude V Ricketts (1960) while under way in mid-Atlantic. The photographer is on the port side of 02 deck abreast the forefunnel looking aft showing men in working rig and wearing lifejackets. An officer holding a camera is in the foreground and on the left are the tube covers of the Asroc launcher. The crew of the destroyer consisted of 10 officers and 164 crew from the US Navy with the rest of the complement being from West Germany, Italy, Greece, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Turkey as a mixed manning experiment.
