On board the Netherlands Navy aircraft carrier Karel Doorman (1943) under way in the North Sea off the southern Norwegian coast during the NATO exercise Pilot Light. The photographer is in the starboard walkway abaft the island looking forward and to port showing a Grumman S2-A Tracker tied down on deck with wings folded but with starboard engine running. Another Tracker is beyond it and ahead are two Sikorsky SH34-J Seabat helicopters, the nearest of which has its rotors turning. The island is on the right.
