A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the United States Navy hydrofoil patrol gunboat Tucumcari (1967) under way in the Solent. She is fully foil-borne and her hull number is PGH2. The Tucumcari (1967) is on a round-Europe demonstration deployment supported by the tank landing ship Wood County (1957) which lasted from 5 April 1971 when they arrived at Copenhagen to 1 October 1971 when they sailed from the Mediterranean. The photographer is in a motor boat crewed by United States Navy seamen.
