An indigenous man sitting in a locally made open boat in the River Amazon.

Looking down on an indigenous man sitting in the stern of a locally made open boat tied to a pole set in the bed of the River Amazon. The boat is of wooden construction with six strong frames and thwarts holding a single wide plank on each side of the hull. The photographer is on a cruise on the Swedish passenger cruise ship Kungsholm (1928) and the precise location in the Amazon is unknown.
