The funicular railway and the harbour on the north coast of Capri, Italy. The photographer is looking north and down from the upper terminus of the funicular railway which was completed in 1907 and connects the harbour with the Piazza Umberto I in the centre of the island. At anchor outside the harbour is the Ellerman Line passenger cruise ship City of Nagpur (1922). Blocks are being used to extend the harbour breakwater. A vertical format negative.
