Ships Cover for the Arrogant class second class protected cruisers HMS Arrogant (1896), HMS Furious (1896), HMS Gladiator (1896) and HMS Vindictive (1897). The documentation comprises a detailed design proposal which includes the arguments for strengthened ram bows, stability calculations, details of gun and torpedo armament and ammunition allowance, details of ships fittings and equipment such as boats, anchors and cables and masts and yards, schemes of complement, statements of dimensions and estimates of weights, building and labour cost estimates, correspondence and copies of contracts concerning the supply of armour, reports of steaming and manoeuvreing trials, alterations, and vessel condition reports. The earliest papers commence in December 1893 at the beginning of the design process and the latest date from October 1916, by which time the three surviving ships were reduced to static second line duties.
