Ships Cover for the Minotaur class first class armoured cruisers HMS Defence (1907), HMS Minotaur (1906) and HMS Shannon (1906). The documentation mainly comprises statements of dimensions and estimates of weights, details of the initial design proposals, reports of equipment and sea trials, armament and ammunition allowance, details of ships fittings and equipment, copies of correspondence between the Admiralty and various contractors, alterations made to the design prior to completion of the ships, stability calculations and schemes of complement. The earliest papers date from May 1903 at the outset of the design stage and the last from August 1910, by which time all were in commission.
