A diving boy plunging head first into the harbour at Nassau, Bahamas from his open boat which is being controlled by a man using a sculling oar over the port quarter. The photographer is on board the passenger tender Lady Cordeaux (1922) looking down over the bulwark. The boy is hoping to retrieve a coin thrown into the harbour by one of the passengers on the tender.
