On board the Cunard Line passenger cruise ship Carinthia (1925) at anchor in a Norwegian fjord. The photographer is looking forward over the foredeck from the port side showing lifeboat 2A on deck. Lifeboat 2 has been launched and her davits are in the lowered position. The identity of the town in the background is not known. It has a commercial quay with a crane on it, it is served by a railway and a rake of wagons and passenger carriages are on the left. A commercial building with a tall chimney is on the right and the town is backed by high mountains with patches of snow on them.
