The city and harbour at Palma, Majorca. The photographer is looking east-by-south from the Castell de Bellver on a hilltop overlooking the east side of the city with the Hotel Victoria at the water's edge in the centre of the picture and the Hotel Mediterraneano on the right. Commercial vessels are alongside the breakwater and a very large number of open fishing boats are in the harbour by the fish quay in the left background. The La Seu Cathedral can be seen inland of the breakwater. At anchor outside the harbour are two Spanish Navy light cruisers of the Principe Alfonso class.
