Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is looking north from the east side of the east lock abreast the upper chamber showing the control tower between the west and east locks. The lock gates between the east centre and the upper chambers are opening to permit a vessel to move into the centre chamber while heading for the Atlantic. A vertical format negative.
