On board the Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) approaching the Pedro Miguel Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is on the starboard side of the forward end of the promenade deck looking forward showing the number 1 motor lifeboat under her davits and some of the crew on the foredeck. The ship is heading south and the north gates of the east side lock chamber are open ready for her.
