Two dragon boats off Apia, Upolo, Samoa
A slightly distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of two multi-oared canoes, commonly called dragon boats, under way racing together off Apia, Upolu, Samoa. The photographer is on board the Cunard Line passenger cruise ship Franconia (1923) looking seawards at the canoes, each of which has a crew of thirty men and is propelled by 26 oars.
