A very distant view of the sail training three-masted barque Lord Nelson (1986) with the tug Sarah D (1990) and an unidentified vessel and a Bermudan rigged smack leaving or approaching Tynemouth harbour during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993. All of the sails on Lord Nelson are currently furled.The tug Sarah D is visible off the stern of Lord Nelson underway entering the harbour. Off the starboard the bow of Sarah D is a smaller unidentified vessel crossing the entrance. In the distance is a Bermudan rigged smack is visble on the right hand side of the image with its head sails set. The South Shields Pier and Lighthouse are visible in the background on the right hand side of the image.
