The village and harbour of Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece
The village and harbour of Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece. The photographer is looking north-north-west over the village and old harbour from a rocky outcrop. In the centre is the St. Nicholas Church and clock tower. The west side of the harbour is on the right of the picture and it has a leading light on the end of the breakwater at the entrance. A 2-masted schooner and the Donaldson Line cruise ship Letitia (1925) are anchored offshore. The Letitia is seen from wide off her starboard bow. The village is also known as Limenas, which is Greek for 'port'.
