Mount Lavinia Beach, Colombo, Ceylon. The photographer is looking along the palm tree fringed beach which has outcrops of rock on it. A number of local boats are drawn up on the shore; they have dugout hulls with sewn bulwark planking and an outrigger and two of them have a sail set to dry. This is a copy negative of a photographic print and has been incorrectly captioned Trinidad.
