The Campanile is the bell tower of St Mark's Basilica located in the Piazza San Marco and is one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. The photographer is looking north-by-west from the eastern end of the Giudecca Canal and on the left is the stern of the coastal passenger ship Francesco Morosini (1928) moored at the entrance to the Grand Canal.
