The Eagle' (no date)
Scale: unknown. Plan showing two starboard side views of the headrails, trail-boards and figureheads for an unknown ship. The pencil annotation in the top left says 'The Eagle', which corresponds to the iconography of the two figureheads.
The top figurehead is a full-length figurehead of a female in a long dress and short sleeves holding an eagle aloft on her left arm.
The bottom figurehead is an eagle transporting a young man on its back. This refers to the abduction of Ganymede by Zeus, who had disguised himself as an eagle. Ganymede is holding a cup outstretched in his right hand – alluding to his future role as a cup bearer on Mount Olympus.
