Alberta (1863)
Scale: 1:24. Plan showing the port side of the stern board, starboard quarter gallery and starboard side of the figurehead for the Alberta (1863), a paddle Royal Yacht used as a tender to HMY Victoria & Albert (1855) and a ‘passage boat’ between the Isle of Wight and the mainland.
The stern board has little decoration shown, except a stylised curl similar to a plume or palm frond. The first pillar between the windows has a criss-cross of leaves flowing down it. These two motifs are replicated on the starboard quarter gallery, where they only feature once.
The stem post ends with a curved Royal Coat of Arms, surmounting a small stylised crown. Behind the coat of arms on the trail-board are carved leaves.
According to a note, this is a duplicate plan. There are two Admiralty Letter Book numbers on the plan - DM6050 in a red ink stamp and faintly underneath 6141.
