A slightly distant starboard quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the Shaw, Savill & Albion Company passenger liner Southern Cross (1955) at anchor in an unknown Spanish location. Her starboard anchor is deployed and a motor boat is alongside an open shell door amidships. A sailing dinghy with the number 7 on its mainsail is near to the ship. In the right background is a breakwater with a large crane sited on it, presumably during extension works. Low lying land is in the left background. Negatives numbers P84931, P84932, P84935 and P84938-P84940 were taken on the same occasion and in one of them is a passenger motor launch flying a Spanish ensign.
