A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of manual lifeboat number 7 from the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) taking part in a boat race in Norwegian waters. Each manual lifeboat is crewed by eight male and eight female passengers under the supervision of two of the ship's seamen. The photographer is in one of the ship's motor tenders acting as safety boat. The other three boats in the race can be seen beyond number 7.
