A 70 ton cement mill being shipped on board the cargo liner Piako (1962) at Newport, Monmouthshire. The photographer is on the quayside looking at the floating crane Simson III (1925) with mill No. 1 suspended in slings being alongside towed across the harbour by the twin screw motor tug St. Woolos (1960), which is seen from off her starboard beam. The stern of the Piako (1962) is on the right of the picture. Two of these cement mills were trans-shipped for delivery to Cockburn Cement Ltd, Fremantle, Western Australia, and the ship sailed on 9th February. Negatives numbers N85582 to N85604 inclusive are of this event.
