A polar facemask made for the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust

A double-layered polyester white cotton mask with ear loops. The front is printed with numerous Gentoo penguins of differing sizes in white and grey with orange beaks and feet. The bottom right corner is printed with 'PORT LOCKROY / - ANTARCTICA - ' and the makers label sewn into the seam.

The production of face masks was in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that popularised wearing them. The UK Antarctic Heritage Trust relies on tourism, which has been curtailed due to the pandemic, to support its preservation of Britain's historic huts in the Antarctic. These masks were designed and sold to raise money for their work.
