The Heriot-Watt University remote-controlled submersible ANGUS (1974) being recovered from Loch Linnhe, near Fort William, after trials to the depth of 200ft (60m). Two men are kneeling on a wooden platform guiding the ROV as it is being raised from the water by a shore-based crane. Angus stands for 'A Navigable General-purpose Underwater Surveyor'. It was designed with support from the Science Research Council, Vickers Shipbuilding Group and the British Government.
