On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Arcadia (1954) during lifeboat drill while under way in the Adriatic. The photographer is on the port side of the boat deck amidships looking forward from near the stern of cabin lifeboat number 4 showing boats 2 and 4 under their davits after the davits have been moved down to the foot of the slides. Two of the ship's officers are on the bridge wing watching proceedings while wearing lifejackets. European and Lascar crew members are by the boat deck guardrails and are also wearing lifejackets. A vertical format image. Transparencies numbers PCT1337 to PCT1339 were taken on the same occasion.
