The photographer is on the starboard side of the boat deck amidships looking forward from abreast cabin lifeboat number 3 showing European and Lascar crew members wearing lifejackets and preparing to lower open lifeboat number 1. Two of the ship's officers are on the starboard bridge wing wearing lifejackets and watching proceedings. A vertical format image.
