On board the Bank Line general cargo ship Tymeric (1919) while under way at sea. The photographer, who was one of three apprentices serving on board the ship, is looking aft from the starboard side of number four hatch showing the base of the mainmast, the lattice derricks, numbers four and five hatches and the poop. Awning bars are rigged above the poop deck.
