A barracuda fish laid on deck on board the Bank Line cargo vessel Tymeric (1919) while at sea in the Indian Ocean. While on a voyage from Newcastle, N.S.W. to the U.K. severe weather delays caused the ship to run out of coal and fresh food. The Indian crew members streamed fishing lines and this fish helped to eke out their rations until landfall near Durban. The photographer was an apprentice on board.
