A mix of shipping in Karachi harbour, Pakistan. In the foreground are a number of single masted, lateen rigged sailing craft. The bow of a cargo ship is on the left and in the background are two British built destroyers of 1944-1945 vintage. The photographer is the Third officer of the Overseas Tankship tanker Caltex Melbourne (1945) which is not in the picture. A print from this negative is number 62 in Bird's album number 2 (ALB1406) and it is captioned "Ferry boats".
