A view of the quayside taken on board the refrigerated fruit carrier Jamaica Planter (1959) berthed at Montego bay, Jamaica. The photographer is standing at one of the shell doors on the starboard side of the ship. A Jamaican is sitting on a bollard in the foreground. A red lorry full of boxes of bananas has parked next to one of Jamaica planter's gangways. Four Jamaican are standing on the ship's gangway ready to load boxes onto the ship. Three Jamaican men are standing next to the front of the lorry off its left hand side. An orange Yale forklift is driving in front of the parked lorry, with another Jamaican man walking in front of the forklift. A corrugated iron warehouse, full of boxes of bananas is beyond the forklift on the left hand side of the image. An unidentified American warship is berthed in a quay behind the warehouse. A second lorry, partially obscured, is also parked next to another gangway further down the ship ready for loading, on the right hand side of the first vehicle. Mountains are visible in the background. This is Slide 25 of Captain Henry P.
