In the Admiral's cabin on the main deck on board the Japanese Navy battleship Shikishima (1898), while fitting out in the Royal Victoria Dock, London. Some of the furniture has been installed. The photographer is looking to port from the starboard side and the breech of a 12 pounder gun is in the left foreground. The embrasure for the port 12 pounder gun is beyond the table. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A set to half-stop and 20 seconds exposure.
