A woman on the wide, deserted sandy beach at New Brighton at low tide. She is wearing late Victorian or early Edwardian clothes and is carrying a handbag and rolled umbrella but her identity is not known. The beach is covered with worm casts. The beach is backed by a sea wall on the right and residential properties line the foreshore. A church with a tower and an offset steeple is on the right skyline. The top of the negative has been damaged by damp.
