A view of the Golden Gate Bridge at San Francisco from on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) which is inward bound. The photographer is on the starboard side of the bridge looking forward and slightly to starboard. The ship has containers on board but is not fully laden. The Golden Gate Bridge, along with yachts and numerous small craft, is in the background. A partial view of the Marin Headland is on the left hand side of the image. This slide has been underexposed. This is Slide 22 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Relief Second Officer on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) owned by Marejet Bereiderung GMBH & Co. from 23 November 1979 to 7 February 1980. The lecture consists of 25 slides.
